How to pass a Polish language exam at B1 or B2

You speak Polish at work and in shops, but worry about writing, listening or the oral exam. That is understandable: everyday conversation does not test all the skills that earn marks in an exam. Without a full assessment, it is easy to overestimate your readiness and pay for an attempt you are not yet prepared for.

How to pass a Polish language exam at B1 or B2

What you need to pass

In the state exam for adults, you must score at least 50 per cent in each module of the written exam and in the oral exam at B1, and at least 60 per cent at B2. A high reading score cannot make up for a low writing score. The requirements are set out in the official exam structure. TELC uses a different assessment system. If you need B2 for university study, a B1 result in TELC B1·B2 will not meet that requirement. Assess your skills using official tasks for your chosen exam, under timed conditions and with your writing and speaking evaluated. A short grammar test is not enough.

How we help you prepare for the exam

At Poland One, we arrange preparation with a partner school and support from a certified examiner. We help identify the skills you need to improve and build your preparation around the tasks in your exam. You receive feedback on writing and speaking, learn how your performance is assessed and practise completing tasks within the time allowed. This helps address specific reasons for losing marks and lets you approach the exam with greater confidence in your preparation. Our team draws on its experience to align preparation with your goal and deadlines. We handle centre selection, registration and the practical arrangements.
