How long does it take to receive a Polish language certificate after the exam

Passing a Polish language exam before your application deadline does not necessarily mean you will receive the certificate in time. Results, processing and issuing the document all take time. If you plan around the exam date alone, you could miss a university application deadline or the deadline for submitting documents for EU long-term residence.

Which timescales should you allow for

TELC’s official estimate for receiving results is four to six weeks, depending on workload. You should separately confirm with the centre when you will receive the certificate itself. This estimate appears in TELC’s official FAQs. The state certificate is issued within 30 days of receipt of the exam report and the required attachments, provided the certificate fee has been paid. These 30 days should not be counted from the exam date. The procedure is explained in the official FAQs. For your application, what matters is when you will have the certificate in a format accepted by the receiving institution. You also need to allow time for delivery and a possible retake.
